Hey Mark Delsing and other supers nuts: was the original ever your jam? This whole campaign is so far out of my realm of interest but everything old is new again.

  1. $800 for all the minis. Good lord. As for the game itself they’ve revolutionized the world by making the player roll instead of the attacker. Cypher systems already done that and I’m sure they weren’t the first. I

do have fond memories of wearing a blanket and thinking I’m a hero, nothing in this Kickstarter even looks to restore that fun. Strip the buzz words away and you have a points based skirmish game with some gorgeous mini-concepts, I won’t deny them that. But a skirmish game does not bring that childhood fun to life. Fortunately supers games that have done that already.

  2. What really bums me out is that while the original was not a very good game, the setting was really unique — there’s never been much like it in other SHRPGs. You could do a really cool game with its conceits as a base.

But, not today is not that day.

I’d love to know how Sandy Petersen got roped into this.

  3. If this was, instead, the people who make Bones doing a totally superhero mini Kickstarter, they might reach 100K. I would back that, even with the dumb t&a “special mini” promotion bullshit.

  4. I’m pleased that I’m not the only one thinking this looks a bit bonkers. The miniature levels are vastly expensive for what you get and have only in the last day or two added a PDF version of the book. In fact looking at it they’ve also added a level with a PDF book, finally. Even so, this doesn’t look like it’ll back to $100k.
