Jumping back to Hans Messersmith’s point, does using this filmic way of describing the narrative draw our focus to things that film describes well i.e. Ralph Mazza’s people doing things? Might we start to feel like we aren’t allowed to give a bit of side description about what’s going on in our characters’ inner worlds? That’s when it becomes a limitation.
