It doesn’t help separate rpg sessions from film, but I’ve shorthand-described scenes in my games before as “Michael Bay sunset” or “Michael Mann dead of night”. I’m not sure I could break away from mentally “casting” characters, either. I’ll be reading a novel and I’ll still be casting the characters. Maybe it’s more prevalent for visual learners, which I’m pretty sure I am.
