Just watch the video, even if you don’t back it!

I was slated to playtest this, but got sick. It strikes me as one of the more creative projects I’ve seen in some time. Don’t know that I can part with $45 for a hardcopy, but PDF for sure.
What in heaven’s name is this wondrous thing. Backed instantly. That video, let me tell you.
Cam Banks THE VIDEO RIGHT? First time I cried during a kickstarter video and I’m an easy mark.
cecil howe is good people
Cecil makes good stuff. Do Not Let Us Die In The Dark Night Of This Cold Winter is a great little mini-game for horrible wintry death/survival, and HexKit is my favorite hex mapping software, with beautiful little hand-drawn/painted hexes. I’ve been looking forward to this game for a while.
So someone in this thread will put me in their online campaign, yeah?
Man, this seems like a weird combination.
Mark Delsing I think all that’s common from SotDL is the resolution system and the rough organization of a character’s information. If a game follows the pattern:
GM: A thing happens!
Player: I do a thing I’m good at!
GM: roll
Player:
GM: you succeed!
Then if you extract only the resolution mechanism and repaint everything else, SotDL will handle a very wide range of settings. And if you re-paint what a conflict looks like and what resolution looks like (in the narrative) you get even more mileage.
If I had any question it would be the more broad “is that the best pattern for this” rather then “why SotDL” — but cecil’s pretty sharp and getting good game in playtests so I trust him.
Brad Murray Ara Winter They do feature a random wilderness encounter in the video, so there you go. 😊
