You put your finger on a few things here that I recognise. Firstly, the nature of Twitter and other forum exchanges is mostly awful and demoralising – just a poor substitute for those conversations with the friends who really get what you’re going on about. Secondly, tension at the table from nameless nebulous agendas lurking out of sight, is such an important cause of weirdly unsatisfying game sessions. Some games and some groups just work, and others just fail – that’s not an “oh well” shrug, but more a longing to identify the undercurrents in order to influence them if I can.
Interesting stuff. Tks.
