Okay, so do the cool kids try and fight their way into the tables they want? Or can I be fashionably late and uncommitted and just wander around? I tend to like the wandering-into-something-awesome experience but if there are tables I simply MUST be at, tell me about them here please!
If you’re doing freeform, I think there’s a lot of stuff that can just take more people.
I think with IGX, while there is still pretty decent availability at the con (there’s a wall of signup sheets), time of can be not as great.

“Group” from MMOs. Just a thing I’ve always kicked around about con gaming: at any given time there’s probably 40 people wandering around looking for a game, but no one knows because there’s no special hat.
There seriously needs to be a special hat.
Fashionably late will work and you’ll have a good time. You should probably scan through the games and see if there’s anything you particularly fancy playing, maybe sign up for one or two of them. I wouldn’t worry about what the cool kids do.
The IGX stuff will fill up fast, so if there’s a game you would be super sad to miss you’ll want to be F5ing dexposure.com
Otherwise there will be plenty of signups available when you show up.
I’d give it a good try but not worry if the registration process doesn’t give you everything you dreamed of. You’ll have a good time regardless.

Vinnie has also said that it’s totally fine (once registration is live) to send an email about the game or games you most want in and then send follow-up emails as you have more time to sort things out. In other words, you don’t have to have your entire schedule figured out in the first few minutes. If there’s something you really want in on, email about that, then take your time with the rest if you like.
Rachel E.S. Walton well as long as you reserved a spot for me at your Mars table, it’s all good and my convention isn’t ruined. It’s a lot of responsibility but I know you’re up to the task.
(For serious though, this whole emailed registration thing is so incredibly weird and hands-on. Just new to me! I’ll figure it out!)
heh – yeah, don’t let our expert tips fool you – we’ve pretty much all said this same exact thing. It is weird, but it works out somehow. I like it because I like not having to worry about what I’m going to play or run, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
