Also don’t watch the trailer if you enjoy being surprised.

Have you seen the whole thing yet?

No, but now I know the entire plot and who the bad guy really is

I hope it’s Emily Blunt.

I’m not in Cartel‘s orbit, but in hindsight, it’s a natural fit. Catch a matinee of Sicario then drive straight to the table and start playing.

I hear you, Jason, but I’ve got a secret hope that knowing or suspecting who the bad guy is might not matter for this film. We knew that Bardem was up to no good in the No Country trailer and still loved it.

Yeah, good point. Really looking forward to this in a not-looking-forward-to-it way, if that makes sense. Looks traumatic.

Have you seen Villeneuve’s Prisoners? That’s some dark shit and it demonstrates his interest in doing something interesting with genre material.

I haven’t, not sure I want to.

Maybe not for you. But it’s got cinematography by Roger Deakins (Praise his holy Name) and good performances by Jake Gyllenhal and Paul Dano. Hugh Jackman goes a little over the top, but it’s still watchable.
Point is that Villeneuve deserves the benefit of the doubt. 😉

I would wait to see this for you to come down! Otherwise, it’s opening night for me. 🙂

Haha nice. It’d be nice to get out of the con space for a night, too.
