The difficulty for me lies in the fact that yes, Andy Hauge​, the best way to deal with these issues is often kindness and empathy, but also minorities are rightfully angry at being shat on in our cultures on a daily basis and I have no right to tell them not to be (and sometimes public shaming really is the right and useful response, but I think moreso toward people who are purposely being assholes and/or pandering to bigots).
